Every year at Easter the Church receives candidates (catechmens) as members of the Body of Christ. The catechumens reveive the three Sacraments of initiation: Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist. After completing a period of instruction (usually 6 months - 1 year) the catechumens are allowed to receive the Sacraments typically beginning at the Easter celebration. This process is called the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (R.C.I.A.).
If you are interested in becoming Catholic and want to learn more about RCIA or the process of joining the Church call one of the parish offices 515-431-1971 or contact us here. RCIA classes typically meet once a week beginning in the Fall and concluding on Easter.
